water water everywhere

a leisurely soak in cold water is one of life's small but enduring pleasures in a very hot place... so what do we frequent the most in singapore?

1. swimming pool: too bad the water slides are only for children under 12. they look really exciting and i want to have a go but give up the idea immediately after realising that the whistle will be blown from everywhere if any "misbehaviour" is found by the pool staff. after all, this is singapore...

2. beach: this one is much nicer than that of sabah... at least much bigger. still amy complains that the sand is not white enough and water not blue enough... : P

3. botanic garden: yes, we are in the botanic garden! no worries, i'm pretty much sure that the water is not for watering the plants...

4. playground at shopping mall: people always complain singapore is a boring city but for parents with small kids, i disagree. my six days' stay here tells me that the place is clean and safe, high chair is always ready even in food courts, and i particularly appreciate the idea of having this sort of playground at shopping malls.

rafael is reluctant to come any closer to the water in the beginning but eventually finds the joy of wetting himself in the cool water : )
