happy moment

kids are always happy when they are invited to the kitchen for helping out, especially in preparing dessert. and this time the kids are extremely delighted not only because they are allowed to give helping hands, but also they can eat the glutinous dumpling fillings (maltesers!!) all along when they are rubbing the pastry!

well, as you may probably know - it ends up each of us can only share four pieces of dumpling because the kids already finished half pack of the chocolate in the course of the cooking.... : P

cook therapy

好喜歡和你一起入廚。

靜靜的,就我倆;沒有妹妹東攪西攪、沒有爸爸投訴為什麼弄個一團髒?

i'd love to involve heather, but i'd have to say she gives me more trouble than help at this stage.

你長大後,有甚麼不愉快事,就找個藉口,烤個蛋糕,呼吸一下牛油的香氣,舔一下香滑的鮮奶油,然後重新出發吧!

cooking is quite therapeutic to me as long as i can do it quietly and slowly. i do hope rafael can remember these cooking moments when he's big. and when there's anything upset, he can just bake a cake, keep calm and carry on.

cooking mama

各位觀眾,今日rafa 會教大家整葡撻!(請鼓掌‧‧‧)



首先,將呢樣同果樣材料攪勻,之後再放落因時間關係已預先搓好的酥皮裡 ‧‧‧



之後呢,因為餡料太多,所以臨時臨急再整多一盤酥皮 ‧‧‧



之後呢,再放入預熱的焗爐焗三五七刻 ‧‧‧就大功告成!這兩盤葡撻,無論色、香、味都‧‧‧嘿嘿,放落口裡一嚐,更加係‧‧‧嘿嘿嘿嘿嘿!

four years

年初三是你的生日。妹妹整個新年假期在發燒,我們幾乎哪兒也沒去。你倒是沒所謂,反正你最愛留在家裡。

你說想吃朱古力香蕉芝士蛋糕,我們就一起弄。呼!你一次過吹熄四支蠟燭。像變法術,你四歲了。

diary for the day

上學前,我們穿上雨衣,撐起傘子,踏著膠鞋,找水窪去!

放學後,我們吃香蕉冰棒,小朋友大叫:媽媽唔好影啦!(哎呀,爸爸想你,想看到你的照片嘛...)

before school: raincoat + umbrella + crocs + rain = wet little feet!

after school: frozen banana + chocolate + rice crisps = yummy banana popsicles!

and so this is our photo diary for the day, for daddy who misses the kids' smiling face.

summer vacation

暑假第一天,我們翻開買了多時的烹飪書一起做茶點。

we celebrated the first day of summer vacation by doing some summer cooking.

我最愛看到孩子吃得滿面都是,尤其是巧克力,捨不得幫他抹淨。

i just love how kids eat chocolates. they couldn't care less about the mess.

我會記得,2010年你升讀幼稚園那年的暑假,我幸運地可以陪你度過。

i spent the summer vacation with you in 2010, the year when you are just about to go to kindergarten. i'll always remember that.

brazilian cheese bread

松露玫瑰那邊知道這個巴西芝士包食譜,一試便愛上。這個食譜只要有攪拌機和焗爐就可以做好,更不用任何烤焗技巧。芝士包像極日式麵包店的芝士麻薯波波,家中三位食家包括R姐姐都讚好。昨夜做了一大盤粉漿,入院這幾天三人應該不愁沒有早餐了。

少許心得:

  • 我們用的是parmesan cheese,效果很好
  • 木薯粉在一般超級市場沒有,我在烘焙用品店買,500克只賣$6一包,我想港式雜貨店也可能會有?
  • 第二次弄時,我減少了油的份量,效果也沒大分別
  • 我只在每個muffin cup放了1/3滿的粉漿,如果放多點,賣相應會更好

this brazilian cheese bread is sooooooooooooooo simple and nice and i had to share it here though i'm no cooking expert and this blog is not about cooking at all.

it's totally a piece of cake. just put in everything into the blender and bake with a muffin tin. i've made bread for a few times and always got criticisms from the food critics at our home, but this one is a huge hit among everyone, including our helper ms R. anyone likes cheese and a chewy texture will love it!
